This position is located in the Office of International Programs¿ Disaster Assistance Support Program (DASP), USDA Forest Service. The DASP is a cooperative program between the USDA Forest Service and the Agency for International Development (USAID). The DASP provides international disaster preparedness and mitigation systems, planning, training, and response support to USAID headquarters and overseas Missions as well as US Embassies, United Nations agencies, affected countries and cooperating partners. The person selected for this position will be responsible for coordinating a cadre of U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management "detailers", and facilitating USAID requests for specialized equipment.

Duties:
Exercises responsibilities for the implementation, control, and improvement of emergency management training activities related to DASP detailers.

Participates in, coordinates, and/or manages natural resources programs and projects supporting USAID/OFDA's international humanitarian response objectives. Applies specialized knowledge of the environmental factors that contribute to global disaster risk to support vulnerability analysis, pre-disaster planning, and post disaster recovery.

Plans strategies and completes actions related to recruiting, examining, selecting, and placing prospective detailers in support of the DASP program; completion of job analyses and workforce planning activities related to USAID/OFDA surge staffing requirements; and providing advice for identifying, attracting, and retaining a high-quality and diverse detailer cadre.
