This is a permanent, full-time position located with Law Enforcement and Investigations in Idaho City, ID. LAW ENFORCEMENT RETIREMENT COVERAGE: This is a primary law enforcement position under the provisions of 5 USC 8336(c) (CSRS) and 8412(d) (FERS). Applicants must be under age 37. Applicants who are age 37 or over may subtract any of their prior federal service that is in approved primary/rigorous positions and that is creditable for retirement from their current age to meet this age requirement. Applicants must provide proof of this creditable service prior to appointment. The maximum entry-age requirement is waived for veterans preference eligible applicants. In instances where the maximum entry-age is waived, the corresponding mandatory retirement age for these individuals will also be higher because it will be reached after 20 years of Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) service for the entitlement to an immediate enhanced annuity. Veterans are requested to electronically attach their VA letter and/or SF-15 if claiming veteran's preference based upon disability. Also requested is a DD-214, member 4 copy which shows type of discharge.

Responsible for performing law enforcement duties including detection, investigation, apprehension, detention, and prosecution activities associated with the enforcement of the laws and regulations relating to the safe uses of National Forest System lands and resources.
