Duties:
The incumbent is the Drug Testing Technician and supports the ongoing assessments of offenders by administering the protocol for CSOSA's drug testing program. Assists in intake for offenders by establishing positive identification, verifying pertinent information related to drug testing, and updating relevant automated systems.
Provides answers to a wide variety of inquiries. As directed, uses photo imaging machine to establish positive identification when offender has no picture identification. Escorts offender to collection area and monitors his/her movements to ensure integrity of the collection process.
Performs intake duties to support chain-of-custody evidence requirements for the drug testing of criminal offenders.
Inputs offender information into Pre-Trial Real Time Information Management System (PRISM). Updates system each time offender undergoes drug testing. Uses PRISM to track chain of custody of samples from point of collection to the submission of samples to the laboratory. Reports offenders who are in violation of the program.
Performs office automation work to track and monitor offender testing status requiring the use of software applications and computer equipment.
Prepares correspondence, reports, technical documents, graphs/charts, forms, and other office support materials to monitor offender testing status.
Performs data handling tasks affiliated with the use of an automated drug testing management system. Participates in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all drug testing data.
