    MAXIMUM ENTRY AGE: Because this position is covered under Law Enforcement Officer retirement provisions, first-time law enforcement appointees must not have reached their 37th birthday at the time of appointment. Applicants 37 or older who have previous law enforcement officer experience under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) may have their previous law enforcement officer experience subtracted from their age to determine whether they meet the maximum entry age requirement. Duties:

  • Incumbent leads a team of employees performing work at the GS- 09 level. Incumbent performs limited human resource management functions such as approving leave for a few days or for emergencies only; resolving simple, informal complaints of employees and referring others, such as formal grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management official; informing employees of available employee benefits, services, and work-related activities; informing the supervisor of performance management issues/problems and recommending/requesting related actions, such as: assignments, reassignments, promotions, tour of duty changes, peer reviews, performance appraisals, awards, and recognition.

    Implements the provisions of the electronic monitoring program and makes recommendations for program or process improvements. Functions as a technical authority in the implementation of the full range of electronic monitoring program support activities. Resolves an extensive range of program support issues and problems.

    Monitors compliance and reports irregularities to offender supervision personnel. Monitors, prepares, and/or tracks program-specific information. Compiles and conducts statistical analysis of program data and prepares recurring and ad hoc reports. Prepares reports regarding program needs, benefits of the electronic monitoring program, and recommended program and process improvements to supervisor.

  • Installs electronic equipment, ensuring that it works properly. Performs tests and makes adjustments as necessary. Removes electronic monitoring equipment and returns to inventory.

    Remains up -to- date on the latest trends and technology in electronic monitoring. Researches, tests, and analyzes new system of equipment and systems. Provides analysis and recommendations or alternatives.

    Monitors equipment functionality and Global Position System (GPS) reports for equipment failure and identifies need for review and/ or action. Troubleshoots technical problems or concerns reported by program personnel or the offender population. Investigates and resolves equipment problems with vendor assistance. Performs general maintenance on the equipment as required.
