Duties:

  • The position located in the Architect of the Capitol, Superintendent Capitol Building, Assistant Superintendent Facility Support Division, Flag Services Branch.
    The incumbent is an Administrative Support Clerk performing a variety of clerical and automation tasks concerned with office operations under the general supervision of the Flag Office Supervisor.

    Serve as liaison between the Supervisors and individuals within and outside the organization.
    Uses standard computer software and printing devices to produce various documents.
    Creates and edits texts, i.e., inserts, deletes, move texts, and incorporate substantive changes to documents. Maintains various databases and knowledge of data entry.
    Transmits and receives electronic mail and messages.

    Keep daily records of flags received by the United States Capitol Flag Office.
    Track flags and flag letters that are submitted by Members of Congress, other Federal
    Maintain Page Delivery Logs to the House of Representatives.
    Maintain information needed to answer inquires about the flag flying process.
    Researches procedures and records in order to respond to letters and inquires concerning flags flown over the Capitol Building and their disposition.
    Provides high quality customer service to Members of Congress and responds to requests and complaints in a timely professional manner.
    Performs work in support of a property management function, such as filing and maintaining property records, participating in periodic property inventories, and/or disposal of excess property.

    The incumbent must be capable of lifting 75 pounds and must be able to stand, stoop, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
