Duties:

• Plans, conducts, or leads the development and implementation of both quantitative and qualitative research activities to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of BJS's programs, projects, operations, and activities.
  
  Coordinates with program and administrative staff (e.g., personnel, budget, accounting, audit, contracting, facilities, information resources management), both within and external to BJS, as needed to ensure that operational studies or reviews are comprehensive and useful.
  Plans, conducts, or leads the development and implementation of both quantitative and qualitative research activities to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of BJS's programs, projects, operations, and activities.<br /><br />Coordinates with program and administrative staff (e.g., personnel, budget, accounting, audit, contracting, facilities, information resources management), both within and external to BJS, as needed to ensure that operational studies or reviews are comprehensive and useful.
• Writes, prepares, and contributes to any of a wide variety of general publishable documents including high priority correspondence (e.g., replies to Congressional and White House inquiries), statistical reports, analyses, responses to the public or stakeholders, and performance evaluation reports.

• Plans and conducts management studies and reviews to improve and enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the Bureau's internal management operations.
  
  Reviews the organizational structure, BJS Statistical Business Process Model, BJS Workforce Development Model, strategic plans and budget formulation materials to ensure that work is organized and distributed optimally to achieve effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of operations, while helping management provide satisfying, career enhancing positions by advising on the distribution and arrangement of work among positions and the most effective staffing levels and mix of skills, consistent with the mission, goals, and funding priorities of BJS.
