Duties:
The incumbent serves as Deputy Director of the Statistical Collections Division of the Bureau of Justice Statistics.
The incumbent supervises unit chiefs who are responsible for statistical collections and programs related to courts, prisons, jails, community corrections, reentry, recidivism, and special projects, overseeing the administration of, and providing technical directions to, the unit chiefs on a variety of national statistical data collections and programs in the Statistical Collection Division.
The incumbent serves as a key member of the management team and participates in the day-to-day operations of the Bureau, with responsibilities for preparing matters for decisions by the director; carrying out efforts to implement plans, policies and programs; and completing ad hoc senior-level tasks as assigned.
The incumbent carries out management duties and responsibilities, including preparing responses to requests for statistics or other information from leadership components of the Department of Justice (DOJ), the White House, or Congress.

The incumbent collaborates with the Principal Deputy Director and other Deputy Directors as necessary to coordinate responses to outside requests for information and to support the Bureau's operations for efficient and effective execution of policies, plans, procedures, and products.
