  • Are you interested in working for a cutting edge agency with a mission to improve public safety, and the fair administration of justice? If so, the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs, (OJP), is seeking a high performing individual to serve as an IT applications software developer. The incumbent provides support to OJP's IT mobile applications.

Notes:

  • This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Enterprise Applications Development Division (EADD), Systems Development Branch (SDB). Works with senior developers on development and maintenance, applications performance, and end-user support (training and helpdesk) activities to ensure effective and economical information technology (IT) applications through efficient use of OJP IT resources and OJP compliance with government-wide and DOJ policies, procedures and directives. The incumbent provides general advice, guidance, and assistance on mobile development, formulates OJP's policies, positions and responses to current, emerging and anticipated applications matters and their applicability to OJP.

Duties:


  • Develops technical solutions for business problems for mobile applications using multiple programming languages and frameworks to solve mission critical problems, such as C#, Java, Objective C, Asp.net, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, Knockout JS and HTML5.For example, developed a responsive website for an agency or company. Researches and/or analyzes information technology (IT) problems, issues, and project or program requirements relative to integrating products and services with agency mission area requirements.

  • Assesses policy needs, and develops and provides information technology (IT) policy, procedure, and/or guideline additions, revisions, and/or updates to IT management and staff in order to govern IT activities and accomplish IT projects or programs.

  • Performs work involving the analysis, design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.

  • Participates in implementing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software or developing customized applications. Prepares inputs, outputs, flow diagrams, decision logic tables, and linkages with other application systems.
