Duties:

  • The employee is the Assistant Facility Manager for the Supreme Court Buildings and Grounds, and assists the Facility Manager and Deputy Facility Manager of the Supreme Court Building and Grounds with the management, operation and maintenance of the facility.

    Directs the work of the trade shops including Electricians, Elevator Mechanics, Gardeners, A/C Equipment Mechanics, Pipefitters, Decorative Plasterers, Masons, and Decorative Painters. Applies a technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and structural engineering in directing contractors.

    Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Plans work to be accomplished by the approximatley 30 employees of the Supreme Court workforce as well as additional temporary and seasonal employees.

    Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members; provides feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice, counsel, and/or instruction to staff members. Recommends or approves appointments, selections, or reassignments to positions appropriate to the selection authority delegated. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area. Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and program activities.
  • Determines the maintenance requirements of various kinds of facilities, physical plants, and equipment. Coordinates and directs facilities operations maintenance and upkeep efforts, including the work performed by a variety of trades and labor employees.
  • Monitors contracts to ensure satisfactory progress, to assure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract, and to identify problems that threaten contractor performance.
  • Analyzes requirements to maintain and operate various kinds of facilities, physical plants, and equipment.
