    This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 30 months, but may be extended up to 5 years. Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

Duties:

  • Performs duties related to community outreach and education events and services.
  • Performs logistical planning activities for a wide range of programs, seminars, and events for congressional Members, committees, and staff.
  • Prepares marketing, publicity, and promotional materials for agency seminars, programs, and events.
  • Plans, implements, and/or manages social media efforts or social media/social networking programs.
