The Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) has an opening for a Supervisory Statistician (Deputy Associate Director of ORE) to join our dedicated team and gain invaluable experience working in the public interest to support the fair administration of justice.

Duties:

  • Formulates and carries through research/evaluation plans that explore the beneficial areas of research in relation to the agency's mission programs and needs. Advises other specialists on highly complex and unprecedented problems.
  • Coordinates major studies with far-reaching results. Develops technologies and methods for conducting analyses of issues and evaluations of multi-purpose planning projects and programs.

    Designs and develops data analysis methods and techniques, and adapts them to specialized evaluation or research projects. Conducts statistical analyses or studies of significance to mission critical agency programs and operations.
  • Develops evaluation and/or research designs to include new analysis methods for which no precedents are available. Forecasts the impact of present and future technologies on the agency's current practices using analytical and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Constructs analytical and mathematical models that attempts to clearly-delineated relationships between the study elements. Provides guidance and technical assistance to other organizational entities to determine the effect of existing regulations and standards and the need for changes. Works closely with other federal agencies, non-profit research organizations, private research firms, and professional organizations to synthesize existing knowledge pertaining to policies and operations in the subject field, and to data collection activities.

    Directs and supervises data analyses and evaluates projects focusing on informing the agency of practices that promote successful offender performance.
