This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 60 months (5 years). Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

OGHH provides management and strategic guidance for Peace Corp's global health activities around the globe, which includes provision of agency-level policy guidance, and general supervision, direction, and coordination of Peace Corp's Health and HIV activities.
