This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 60 months (5 years). Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

Duties:

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Global Accounts Payable and is responsible for examining and calculating vouchers for the payment of Volunteer allowances and reimbursements, claims, contracts, purchase orders, travel, grants and petty cash (imprest) payments, collections, accommodation exchange and replenishments. Payment vouchers may be received from domestic or overseas offices, in US dollars or foreign curency. Examines and verifies commercial and other types of invoices. Ensures that invoices submitted are in accordance with the terms of the contract and that the vendor statements are complete and accurate. Prepares and processes commitment and obligation accounting data.
