The employee serves as the Maintenance Mechanic Leader for at least three occupational trades and serves as the Supervisor's representative for priority night time maintenance and repair operational decisions involving Painting, Plastering and Masonry.
Communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines, and time frames for completion.
Performs limited human resources management functions such as approving leave, resolving simple informal complaints of employees and referring others, such as formal grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management official.
Prepares surfaces for plaster application. Finishes new plaster surfaces as well as repairs and patches existing surfaces. Mixes and applies plastering materials for application on all types of backgrounds such as metal, wood, or gypsum lath, wallboard, and masonry surfaces. In repairing damaged areas, determines how much old plaster to remove to obtain a firm surface and whether to replace lath.
Applies coating materials such as paint, varnish, lacquer, shellac, epoxy resin, and teflon to wood, metal, glass, synthetic, concrete, and other surfaces. Coats the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, mobile equipment, fittings, furnishings, machinery, and/or other surfaces.
Prepares surfaces for the application of coating materials, such as building interiors and exteriors, mobile equipment, fittings, furnishings, machinery, and other surfaces.
Repairs, maintains, alters, and constructs a variety of masonry structures and surfaces using brick, block, stone, firebrick, and other building materials.
