Duties:

  • This position is located in the Office of the Chief, Administrative Officer; Human Capital Management Division, Employee Benefits and Services Branch. The purpose of the position is to provide human resources advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding retirement and other comprehensive federal benefit services.
  • The incumbent is responsible for addressing and resolving human resources issues, providing proactive customer services, operational support and for resolving problems related to retirement, health and life insurance, and other related employee benefits.
  • More specifically, the incumbent counsels and advises employees on sensitive or serious matters related to retirement benefits, life insurance, health insurance, Long Term Care (LTC), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), flexible spending, dental and vision coverage and transit subsidy.
  • The incumbent counsels employees on the regulations, requirements, restrictions, procedures, provisions, limitations and advantages of various retirement systems. Provides employees and/or their survivors with definitive answers involving complex retirement questions on the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), CSRS Offset, Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), and Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Corrections Act (FERCCA). Provides information and guidance to assist employees in making irrevocable decisions that would result in maximum gains from available benefit options.
