The Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia (CSOSA) has an opening for a Statistician in its Office of Research and Evaluation. This individual will be responsible for conducting advanced statistical analysis and program evaluation projects focusing on providing information on agency practices.
    The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of professionals and gain invaluable experience working in the public interest to improve public safety in the District of Columbia. Duties:

  • The incumbent is a Statistician and conducts advanced statistical analysis and program evaluation projects focusing on providing information on agency practices that promote offender compliance with conditions of release. Conducts a variety of statistical and/or mathematical techniques including the design and estimation of statistical models, the design and construction of measurement models, the design and extraction of samples, scale design, and other techniques that support inferential statistics/mathematics.
    Conducts advanced statistical analysis and program evaluation projects focusing on reviewing agency practices that promote offender compliance with conditions of release. Provides statistics data that contributes to the build and maintenance of the Agency's Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reporting Portal that stores mission-critical data, management reports, and performance measures.
  • Manages or leads work that applies statistical/mathematical techniques to the analysis of data extracted from and integrated from multiple systems of records databases.
    Performs statistical data collection requirements activities, such as preparing, processing, and coordinating standing collection requirements across numerous local, state, and federal agencies. Ensures the collection of statistical data and use of these data satisfy immediate, mid-range, and long-term statistical data collection requirements.
    Designs methods associated with the estimation of statistical/mathematical models. Evaluates the performance of estimated models using a variety of fit statistics and model performance diagnostics. Develops sampling methodology to include construction of a sampling frame and the techniques required to meeting sampling objectives.
