The vacancies in this announcement are being advertised under the Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) Summer Employment Program. This program allows students who are at least 16 years old and meet other qualification requirements to work during the summer in one of the AOC jurisdictions.
This is a temporary position.
DURATION OF WORK: No more than twelve (12) consecutive weeks of fulltime work.

Duties:
Under the Summer Employment Program, selected Interns will perform duties to support the various offices, functions and/or occupations in the Architect of the Capitol, and will work under the close supervision of higher level workers. Summer Interns will be assigned to do work available in various Offices or Jurisdictions. The work will vary depending on the nature of the assignment or the available work in the jurisdictions or office where the Intern will be hired. Interns may be assigned to perform work assignments such as:
Typing correspondence using wordprocessing, answering phones, distributing mail, filing and other tasks. May operate copiers and perform other work of a general clerical nature.
Assist architects or engineers with tasks supporting architectural or engineering projects.
Assist IT specialists in performing routine information technology work.
Assist curators in research, collections and exhibits. Assists archivists and archive technicians in arranging, describing, accessioning, scanning, computer indexing, and preserving permanent and historical records. May assist photographers in performing work in operating cameras, using high-end scanners and processing digital images.
Assist accountants with tasks supporting the financial statement audits of the Agency, performing reconciliations of accounts and inventory counting.
Assist Auditors or Investigators with tasks supporting Office of Inspector General audits and/or investigations such as providing assistance in testing transactions, data base searches and analysis and documenting work performed.
The Interns will also perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the AOC.
