    This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 30 months, but may be extended up to 5 years. Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

Duties:

  • This position is located in the Office of Strategic Information, Research and Planning (OSIRP), in the Office of the Director. OSIRP staff develop and manage agency strategic planning, support the agency's performance improvement and measurement processes, design and collect data on measures of agency performance, conduct agency-level program evaluations and provide stewardship and governance of data. In carrying out its functions, OSIRP provides a wide range of management, planning, and analytical services to Agency staff.

    The incumbent is responsible for proposing, designing, and conducting studies as well as reporting results from the studies analyzing the Peace Corps' policies, programs and operations.
  • The work entails reviewing existing reports and literature, designing data-collection instruments such as survey questionnaires, developing data-collection procedures, coding data, establishing an analysis framework, and writing, producing, and presenting final reports.
  • The incumbent also serves as a technical resource for agency-wide survey research.
