Duties:

  • Conducts projects and implements statistical designs and data management systems that deal with implementation and outcome studies (e.g., treatment efficacy/effectiveness, recidivism/revocation, re-arrest, sex offender/mental health monitoring, etc.), as well as performance management. Manages analysis and evaluation projects focusing on informing agency policies and practices that promote successful offender performance while on supervision including graduated sanctioning responses, performance in substance abuse treatment, vocational development and employment-skill matching.
  • Performs critical reviews of scientific or technical procedures, protocols, methodologies, inspections, and investigations for scientific and regulatory policy implications. Recommends attendant policy changes, or develops important public programs. Assesses evidence, determines nature of violations, and initiates regulatory action. Provides expert consultative services and maintains current knowledge of scientific subjects pertaining to statistics and the regulatory area and recommends improvements to the review process.
  • Evaluates and analyzes agency-wide programs, functions, and organizations to determine whether the management systems efficiently accomplish the objectives sought, and whether they provide the controls necessary for sound management. Assess the result of internal management studies made by individual offices to assess their validity, effectiveness, and possible application. Participates in developing agency standards and instructions relative to survey activities. Conducts periodic monitoring and assessment of well-precedented social services programs and projects to determine compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines in addition to internal and external programs. Compiles comprehensive reports of review findings, and makes recommendations for enhancing service delivery.
  • Develops policies, strategies, and plans for social science analysis programs/projects for agency-wide application. Provides specialized expertise in designing and monitoring policies, strategies, and programs in the social science analysis area. Provides technical advice, guidance, and support on technical issues regarding the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of social science programs.
