Duties:

• The Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. The Office of General Counsel seeks a legal intern with a strong work ethic to support the Office in its duties and functions during the summer of 2023. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel. Duties include conducting legislative research; drafting contracts; learning to review government contracts; with supervision, counseling clients on issues involving government ethics; and conducting other legal research to support CBOs analytic activities. Additional responsibilities include drafting legal memorandums and briefs about the significance of various court decisions to CBO, assisting with statutory interpretation, and verifying legal citations in draft CBO reports.
