Duties:

• CBOs Budget Analysis Division seeks an analyst for its Health Systems and Medicare Cost Estimates Unit who will focus primarily on the Medicare program. CBOs analysts work closely with key Congressional staff members as they develop federal policy. Health care analysts prepare multiyear spending projections for federal health care and analyze the Administrations budget proposals for those programs. They also prepare cost estimates for legislative proposals that could include, for example, changes in the federal financing of Medicare, in the delivery of services under that program, or in enrollees premiums and out-of-pocket costs. The Congress relies on CBOs analyses in preparing its annual budget plans, evaluating the Presidents budget proposals, and assessing the potential budgetary consequences of various policy proposals.
