Duties:
Serves as the Office Director of Investigative and Forensic Sciences (OIFS) in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Washington DC. The Office Director manages all aspects of OIFS's strategic initiatives and programmatic operations. As a nationally recognized consultant and expert in forensic sciences, represents OIFS, NIJ, and OJP in developing and leveraging the technical expertise of OIFS on critical issues in a wide variety of internal and external forums.
Serves as the expert and leading authority in overall program definition, organization, management, and strategic direction. Writes/drafts legislation, public policy statements and guidance for principals and senior policy-makers. Designs and oversees a variety of management control and tracking systems and coordinates planning and administrative matters within NIJ. Recognizes and identifies technology requirements in advocating future projects and activities.
