MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Grade 7:


Qualifying experience for the FP-07 level includes one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FP-08 or GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples are assisting in the development and/or implementation of clerical or administrative procedures for application within an organization; or selecting and arranging data and information from files and other resources for use by others in completing larger reports and projects.


SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirements for the FP-07 level may be met by completion of one (1) year of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position.


COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.

Examples are assisting in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program or project studies; or maintaining an automated system of program-specific data to track information such as milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, and compliance strategies.


SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirements for the FP-06 level may be met by completion of 18 months of graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position.

  • This is an Excepted Service Appointment. This intial appointment is for 13 months. However, it may be renewed without further competition. Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

Duties:

  • The Program Support Assistant position is located in the Office of Peace Corps Response. The incumbent carries out administrative functions in support of Volunteer recruitment and placement for the Global Health Service Partnership (GHSP).

    Coordinates the administrative and clerical work for the organization. Procures office supplies and services. Interacts with members of the staff, organization, and individuals outside of the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public. Receives phone calls and visitors and refers them to an appropriate individual. Serves as the office liaison for groups associated with the organization.
  • Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation.
  • Performs work related to the gathering and development of materials, and reporting of activities in support of the technical projects of an organization.
