Agency Marketing Statement:

  • The Congressional Budget Office is a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress. If you're looking for a job where you can analyze budgetary and economic effects of public policies, provide nonpartisan, objective analysis, support the Congress, and work with some of the brightest minds in policy analysis, CBO just might be the right place for you.

Duties:

  • The Visual Information and Production Specialist will help make CBO's publications clear and accessible to a broad audience. The specialist will work with staff members throughout the agency on reports, graphics, slide decks, infographics, and presentations. Responsibilities include conceptualizing and precisely executing statistical graphics and data visualizations (such as tables, charts, and graphs) that are aesthetically pleasing; helping in their early development by attending meetings and reviewing drafts to recommend opportunities; and crafting cohesive graphical stories. Responsibilities also include producing publications with FrameMaker, InDesign, Excel, DeltaGraph, Illustrator, and other tools. And because the ways that people obtain information are changing, the specialist will help create new approaches to publishing that focus on the web.
