This position is located in the office for Victims of Crime (OVC), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Department of Justice (DOJ). OVC's mission is to enhance the Nation's capacity to assist crime victims and to provide leadership in changing attitudes, policies, and practices to promote justice and healing for all victims of crime. The OVC is one of six components with components with grant-making authority within OJP, U.S. Department of Justice. The incumbent of this position serves as the programmatic expert responsible for the overall direction, guidance, policy and program development, and implementation of OVC tribal programs. As the OVC Director's primary senior advisor on American Indian/Alaska Native issues, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of all OVC efforts to implement justice system improvement programs in Indian Country. The incumbent advises on the application of OVC programs in Indian communities and provides guidance on research, planning, technical assistance, and training applicable to this population.
