Duties:

  • The Energy, Climate, and Environment Unit conducts research and analysis on topics of interest to the Congress, including the effects of climate change, climate change policy, and related energy and environmental issues. Recent analyses have focused on the effects of climate change on the nations economic output, channels through which climate change affects the federal budget, and analyses of climate change policies in the electric power and transportation sectors. In the coming year, the unit will expand its capacity to model the effects of climate change and climate change policy on the budget and the economy.

    The successful candidate will contribute to the full range of the divisions responsibilities developing quantitative models to analyze legislation and policy areas of interest to the Congress, conducting economic analyses, and writing reports and testimonies. Staff are encouraged to participate actively in policy research that is related to CBOs mission by presenting papers at conferences, publishing them as CBO working papers, and writing articles for professional journals.
