RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY, RE-ENTRY PROGRAM, SANCTIONS CENTER OR COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS FACILITY). **NOTE: YOUR WORK HISTORY MUST ADDRESS THIS REQUIREMENT IN DETAIL IN ORDER TO BE FURTHER CONSIDERED.

Ability to effectively communicate key policy and program requirements and make oral/written communication recommendations to senior management officials, counterparts, subordinates and offenders.

Ability to apply a wide range of social work or psychology practices, concepts, theories, and methods to offender/patient delivery programs that are aimed at substance abuse and treatment.

Ability to conduct impact, research and evaluation analyses on offender housing or substance abuse treatment programs.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


The individual certifies that attached to the application is a copy of a current license such a LICSW, LPC,LPPC, LCPC or equivalent in good standing with the appropriate professional licensing authority.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS


A. Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the behavioral or social sciences, or in a related discipline that included at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in the behavioral or social sciences.


OR


B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.


OR


C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.


ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants must have had one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-13.


Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes experience developing offender housing and treatment program standards, procedures and policies; and experience in managing a facility that housed offenders or others and provided intensive substance abuse treatment in either a residential or community corrections environment (e.g. residential treatment facility, re-entry program, sanctions center, or community corrections facility).

Duties:

  • Directs clinical services, which include provision of clinical supervision to staff providing direct clinical and counseling services to clients and coordination of vocational rehabilitation services; Monitors contract clinical services to include contractors scheduling and adherence to contract requirements; urinalysis program monitoring, and assists offenders in obtaining health, welfare and other social services.

    Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and operational instructions for the RSC consistent with nationally recognized standards including but not limited to the American Correctional Association (ACA), and the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

    Ensure that the RSC treatment recommendations are consistent with the industry accepted level of care determination practices, such as the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and client assessment and evaluation protocols are consistent with the best practices for client populations served by the RSC.
  • Performs case management services for individuals referred to program resources. Tracks social services program participation through an automated case management system. Identifies and plan the implementation of a variety of training program that apply the most successful behavior health disorders treatment principles. Revises and implements new program and services to meet the changing needs of the clients.
