Duties:

• This position will manage cooperative agreements for justice reform projects. This includes directing BJA-funded and competitively selected training and technical assistance providers with facilitation and subject matter expertise to lead states through the Justice Reinvestment Initiative and other data driven reform efforts.
  
  Designs and directs efforts involving data collection, analysis, use, and associated challenges across agencies as well as interplay between state and local systems and agencies therein applicable to the Justice Reinvestment Initiative. Assists states in identifying opportunities to improve criminal justice outcomes, implement most cost-effective solutions and invest in strategies that reduce recidivism and hold individuals accountable.
  
  Evaluates and recommends action to decision makers on concept papers, abstracts, applications for funding, and related matters to support assessment of compliance with grant program requirements, relevance to issues and priorities, and possible contribution to the adoption of evidence-based practices in the corrections, reentry and justice reform implementation areas. Negotiates technical aspects of criminal justice programs on the federal grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and inter-agency agreements to ensure the greatest potential for success and impact of BJA's vital and justice reform implementation programs. Oversees developments across the country related to justice reform implementation to ensure program effectiveness and impact.

Provides inter-agency liaison services to federal agencies providing specific support and services in justice reform implementation. Researches and prepares analysis on criminal justice program issues, providing expert guidance or analysis in justice reform and reinvestment. Represents the organization in developing and maintaining effective relationships with national, state, tribal, and local experts, administrators, high-level officials, policy makers, and planners. Serves as a BJA representative in corrections, reentry and justice reform on agency or inter-agency task forces whose members include high-level DOJ officials and other executive branch representatives.
