Duties:

  • The incumbent serves as a senior advisor for the planning, preparation, coordination, and dissemination of data and information in very broad and technically complex subject-matter areas.
  • The incumbent assists in the development of broad and complex statistical, technical, and/or data collection programs, and provides technical direction to BJS staff related to project designs, specification of data processing and tabulation protocols, data analysis, report production and dissemination, and public-use data archival.
  • The incumbent develops or ensures the appropriateness of the methodologies used for the collection of criminal justice data conducted 'in-house' or under contract arrangement with other government agencies, private contractors, or grantees. This includes oversight of the sample design, methods of collection, quality control, estimation procedures, and analytic plans.
