Duties:

  • Plans and manages policy-related projects from the concept development stage through implementation and management. Identifies requirements, develops technical and administrative approaches, and coordinates project resources. Ensures the development of concise and effective directives, and maintains an effective system of keeping policies and procedures current. Facilitates workgroups to develop business process flows which serve as the basis for new or revised directives.
  • Develops and monitors policies, procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems and line or operating programs. Recommends procedures and controls, both internal and external.
  • Researches and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements.
  • Supervises a group of policy analysts performing work at the GS-13 level. Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members. Effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area.
