Duties:

  • Oversees and guides projects in the area of justice systems with a specialized focus on policing.
  • Performs a variety of analytical research, evaluation, program development, and other tasks related to policing and justice systems.
  • Serves as a technical expert for the policing social science focus area and evaluates the scientific aspects of a wide variety of program grants, research-based grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
  • Research and reviews current developments in the appropriate social science disciplines to ensure that the policing and justice systems research program planning, implementation, and reviews are well-grounded in current scientific knowledge and methods.
  • Plans and manages projects from the concept development stage through implementation and management. Identifies requirements, develops technical and administrative approaches, and coordinates project resources, including project costs, human resources, scheduled completion timeframes, etc.
