This position serves as a client services advisor on employees services related to pay and benefits.
Duties include:
--Handling the processing of payroll requests such as delinquent educational loans, alimony and child support cases, IRS liens, commercial garnishments, and others as required;
--Communicating Department of Justice (DOJ) and OJP policies and interpretations on pay and leave-related decisions, rulings, appeals, guidelines, and new or revised instructions to managers, peers, and employees;
--Providing advice on complex program requirements, and identifing relevant issues;
--Researching and responding to a variety of routine and complex inquiries regarding payroll and HR matters;
--Conducting extensive research of technical issues and providing expert advice and/or authoritative technical advice to timekeepers, personnel, and administrative staff on pay related issues.
--Auditing time and attendance (T&A) after payment and leave are released to the processing center. Oversees the data input from rejected T&A's, missing T&A's, and missing personnel actions.
--Processing personnel actions complicated by a variety of factors such as different types of appointments, employment situations, and conditions; large groups of employees with work schedules that vary from week to week, entitlements including the full range of premium pay, allowances, and special rates; and a world-wide workforce;
--Making retroactive adjustments and traces and reconciles errors in pay actions that require extensive research of applicable laws, NFC, OPM and DOJ guidance/policies.
