KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


Ability to provide program management advice and assistance on complex crime victim and criminal justice issues related to policy, programming, and/or funding.

Ability to represent top management to a variety of groups on a broad range of crime victims' issues, such as restitution, rights enforcement or access to mandated services.

Ability to communicate in writing.

Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.

Ability to manage special projects with significant impact on crime victim policy, programming or funding.

Ability to plan and execute work.

Ability to provide advice and guidance on business and program management issues related to crime victim-related policy, programming or funding.


MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Grade 15:


Qualifying experience for the GS-15 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-14 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Initiating high priority crime victim projects, investigations, and initiatives; managing multiple special projects for major office or program issues of broad impact; or performing work that involved complex analyses, initiation of program reviews, or development of cross agency activities that are crime victim-related.

  • The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) provides innovative leadership to federal, state, local, and tribal justice systems, by disseminating state-of-the art knowledge and practices across America, and providing grants for the implementation of these crime fighting strategies. OJP works in partnership with the justice community to identify the most pressing crime-related challenges confronting the justice system and to provide information, training, coordination, and innovative strategies and approaches for addressing these challenges. OJP is seeking results-oriented professionals to join our team and build solutions to address evidence-based, "smart on crime" approaches in criminal and juvenile justice.

Duties:

  • Plans and/or accomplishes special projects for the Director related to crime victim services such as restitution.
  • Provides advice and guidance, including interpretations, opinions, or decisions, regarding crime victim programs or policies. Consultations involve assessment of crime victim program or policy conditions, phenomena, or anomalies.
  • Performs duties in support of the information, internal communications, and liaison activities for organizational programs related to crime victims and their rights. Acts as liaison with persons or groups within and/or outside of the organization to disseminate information about crime victim program requirements or legislation.
