KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skills in oral communications required to collect and provide information on security programs and situations, conduct interviews, and provide program guidance and assistance.
Knowledge of a wide range of physical security concepts, principles and practices, and a variety of physical security hardware and systems to serve as technical source for physical security.
Knowledge of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 laws and personal identity verification procedures required to serve as the Physical Personnel Security Specialist and provide implementation assistance, technical advice and consulting services for implementing Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12.
Skills in written communications to develop documents, reports, briefing materials, technical bulletins, and operating procedures to ensure regulatory compliance functions.
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques of security administration required to conduct inspections, investigate violations, evaluate appropriate actions, prepare actions, and serve as technical resource.
MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12:
Qualifying experience for the GS-12 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-11 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples would include: Conducting physical security surveys and assessments,researching and analyzing physical security techniques, identifying problems, gathering information and developing and implementing plans and solutions, and drafting and presenting physical security procedures and policies.
