KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to provide customer service related to accounting transactions.

Knowledge of fiscal service operations.

Practical knowledge of accounting regulations, practices, policies, and procedures.

Ability to work with accounting codes and classifications.

Ability to perform a range of invoice processing tasks.

Knowledge of the procedures and regulations required to examine and process invoices, vouchers, or other requests for payment.

Ability to process transactions utilizing accounting codes and classifications.

Ability to utilize an automated accounting system.

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 7:

Qualifying experience for the FP-07 level includes one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FP-08 or GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. An example of specialized experience is Monitor financial payment activities through general ledgers, accounting files, and correspondence with program personnel, contractors, vendors, and other federal agencies.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: The experience requirements for the FP-07 level may be met by completion of one (1) year of graduate level education with courses such as accounting, auditing, and finance.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.

Grade 6:

Qualifying experience for the FP-06 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the FP-07 or GS-7 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. An example of specialized experience is Review documents for completeness and accuracy of accounting data. Ensure that obligations are supported by authorized documentation.
